Greetings, Earthlings!

I never really thought I would try to have a blog (or two even - but more on that later), but it finally dawned on me that I'm not struggling to post on Bluesky/Twitteresque platforms because I have nothing to say, but because the short form discourse just doesn't work very well for my brain. It's like it's a form of small talk. The messages literally have to be, well, small! :-P Yes yes, you can have more in depth conversations and have threads for longer statements, but the truth is that figuring out how to write a post in such a limited fashion is just too much of a mental barrier for me to get past the vast majority of the time.

^what my brain is not doing

I am not going to make any promises about the frequency of these blog posts. The truth is, I have been burned out for about 3 years and it has been a bit of a struggle trying to get back to where I was before. Especially when the two times I have tried to step back and take a break, my husband and I unexpectedly had to move! Both times!! -_- The second move was actually from the East coast to the West coast in the US, just this past April. As you might imagine moving across the country was...a lot O.o It might seem odd to be starting something new at this point in time like blogging, but at the moment, something about it seems like it could be sort of healing in a way. Getting to write about a variety of topics with as many words as I want and whenever I want sounds quite refreshing, honestly. I am so tired of algorithm-oppressed social media landscapes. I don't feel like I can leave them entirely, but for this blog at least I'm going to try to approach posting for it in a very relaxed manner. The aim is for this to be very much a post-when-I-feel-like-it type of endeavor.

So what types of posts might you find here? Well, all kinds of stuff really. This is truly a blog for whatever I might feel excited or motivated to post about. That might mean a post about my process for creating some art, or it might be about music, education, or maybe even music education (I was a music teacher for for 15+ years before streaming on Twitch and opening my art shop). Or maybe sharing some photos from a trip. I may also talk about current events, mental health, or my journey recovering from complex ptsd.

If you're familiar with my Twitch streams, I feel like maybe I should make a bit of a disclaimer that this blog is not meant to be an extension of the stream with regards to vibes. I mean I do hope it will overall feel cozy and fun like the stream, but while the stream is meant to largely represent an escape from irl things, I'm going to be talking about irl things here - some of which may be heavier topics. I'm going to do my very best to not just rant on my soapbox about stuff though :-P That being said, remember I mentioned a second blog at the beginning? My plan is to also launch a newsletter at some point that is more of a report on the state of the stream and my business in general. It will focus on upcoming content, pieces that I was working on for the previous period, updates to the shop, and more! It will be called The Galaxy Garden Gazette and (hopefully) will have the option to sign up for updates via email.

Well, I guess that wraps things up for the first gallimaufry blog post! Be sure to subscribe using your Bluesky, Pckt, or other Atmosphere account if you want to see the next one :)
